Job summary

Westinghouse Electric Company in Cranberry Township, PA is seeking an Operations Engineer to support reactor core physics testing and reactor engineering services. The role combines office work with field duties and requires travel to customer sites periodically.

You will report to the Senior Engineering Manager and participate in testing, equipment maintenance, and procedure development for nuclear systems, with a focus on safety and reliability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Nuclear Engineering.
• 0+ years experience.
• Master's Degree in Nuclear Engineering (beneficial).
• Reactor Operator License for University or Research Reactor (beneficial).
• Experience with use of nuclear detection equipment.
• Familiarity with reactor physics and reactor dynamics.
• Experience with LabVIEW software.
• Instrumentation and Control (I&C) Laboratory equipment operation and management.
• Operation or design of instrumentation and control (I&C) systems.
• Neutron detection familiarity (rh or vanadium in-core I&C).
• Experience writing engineering or operating procedures.

Responsibilities

• Mix of office work and hands-on, field work.
• Work with customers to support the customer's reactor operation team.
• Maintain and testing equipment, shipping equipment to customer sites, transport, setup and tear down of test equipment at customer sites, test administration and reporting.
• Support power plant customers by performing critical activities in the control room; communicate effectively with customers.
• Travel to customer sites for hands-on work 2–4 times per year; 5–15 days per trip.
• Maintain fitness for duty and participate in Westinghouse's behavioral observation program.
