Job summary

Heart Hospital of Austin is seeking a Nuclear Medicine Technologist to deliver diagnostic imaging using radioactive materials and advanced imaging equipment. The role includes performing exams, coordinating patient care with the healthcare team, and ensuring safety and comfort for patients.

Requirements include an Associate Degree and certification (CNMT/ARRT N) with Texas licensure, plus BLS and ACLS within specified timeframes. This position offers a sign-on bonus and no on-call duties.

Qualifications

• Associate Degree required and NM program accreditation (JRCD/NM) or equivalent.
• Texas Medical Board licensure as Medical Radiologic Technologist and CNMT/ARRT(N) certification.
• BLS and ACLS required within specified timeframes after employment.

Responsibilities

• Perform Nuclear Medicine exams in a timely manner and document required information.
• Coordinate patient care with technologists, physicians, nurses and allied health staff.
• Evaluate patient condition to adequately perform imaging.
• Explain procedures to patients and obtain cooperation.
• Provide direct patient care and maintain a safe, comforting environment.
• Consult with staff to meet patient and family needs.
• Ensure clinical equipment and supplies are available and safely used; perform Point of Care procedures as per policy.
• Document information and comply with Point of Care quality standards.

Education

Associate Degree

Graduate from an approved JRCD/NM program or equivalent (NMTCB and/or ARRT(N))
