Major Responsibilities include:
- Performing and documenting diagnostic and therapeutic Nuclear Medicine procedures with proper technical parameters to ensure quality studies.
- Updating outpatient and inpatient schedules, ordering radiopharmaceuticals, and maintaining patient records with medical history and clinical information.
- Preparing and administering radiopharmaceuticals and adjunctive medications per clinician prescriptions, including venipuncture and IV placement.
- Handling radioactive materials following safety standards and implementing ALARA principles.
- Processing procedures on computer systems, capturing exam charges, verifying orders, positioning patients, and ensuring high-quality images.
- Monitoring patient comfort, safety, and cooperation during procedures, and maintaining compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
- Maintaining equipment, supplies, cleanliness, and participating in quality assurance and control activities.
- Following hospital infection control policies, radiation protection guidelines, and proper documentation procedures.
- Participating in emergency calls, rotating shifts, and adhering to all regulatory standards including IEMA, ACR, EPA, and OSHA.
- Possessing educational qualifications from an accredited AMA School of Nuclear Medicine, with required skills including HIS/RIS systems, IV skills, and CPR certification within 30 days of hire.
Physical requirements include the ability to lift up to 35 pounds, work in a fast-paced environment, and handle hazardous materials and radiation exposure. The role requires flexibility to work rotating shifts and on-call duties.
