HCA Florida St. Lucie Hospital is seeking a Nuclear Medicine Technologist (PRN) to perform radiologic procedures and assist in diagnostics. The role involves operating imaging equipment, explaining procedures, and ensuring patient safety under Radiologist supervision.

The team emphasizes radiation protection and patient-centered care in a fast-paced environment. QUALIFIED candidates hold ARRT NMT certification or NMT certification, FL licensure, and BLS.

Qualifications

• ARRT NMT Certification or NMT Certification is required.
• Current FL state licensure (Dept. of Health) is required.
• BLS Healthcare Provider certification.
• Customer service abilities including effective listening skills.
• Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast paced environment.
• Physical ability to stand, bend, reach, and lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Operates x-ray equipment to make radiographs of designated portions of the body.
• Under supervision of a Radiologist, performs x-ray therapy on patients.
• Explains procedures to patients and addresses their concerns.
• Positions patients utilizing immobilization devices.
• May administer contrast materials as needed.
• Operates equipment in ED, OR and at patient bedside.
• Takes pictures and develops film.
• Monitors and records procedures using computerized systems.
• Mentors new staff and supports radiation safety practices.
• Provides a safe environment for administration of contrast material.
• Assists with transporting patients.
