Job summary

AdventHealth Lake Wales seeks a Nuclear Medicine Technologist to perform patient examinations, ensure quality control, and collaborate with radiologists to deliver accurate imaging. The role emphasizes safety, equipment readiness, and compassionate patient care within a faith-based health system.

Responsibilities include performing a range of Nuclear Medicine procedures, maintaining equipment, and training coworkers.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of human physiology (Required)
  • Knowledge of Scintigraphic equipment, Acquisition computers, and processing stations (Required)
  • Knowledge of Hot Lab equipment (Required)
  • Ability to learn and master new tasks related to Image Quality and Radiation Safety (Required)
  • Ability to communicate effectively and work with people of diverse backgrounds (Required)
  • Must possess sound judgment and multitasking abilities under busy conditions (Required)
  • Must be able to read, write and speak conversational English (Required)
  • Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office (Required)
  • Ability to follow Radiology software packages such as Cerner, Radworks, and Pacs (Required)
  • Ability to follow departmental policies and ALARA concepts (Required)
  • Additional languages preferred (Required)

Responsibilities

  • Shift - PRN, open availability.
  • Ensures equipment meets quality control requirements and performs patient examinations.
  • Performs Nuclear Medicine procedures, proficiency with camera acquisition and processing.
  • Maintains room readiness, stocks supplies, and documents work orders for malfunctioning equipment.
  • Documents quality control data and exam charges in the information systems.
  • Confirms examination assignments and ensures accurate patient and exam data before interpretation.
  • Explains procedures to patients and administers radionuclides following safety principles.
  • Other duties as assigned.
