Job summary

Wellstar is hiring a Nuclear Medicine Technologist on a PRN basis with the potential to work up to 40 hours per week. The role includes providing safe, age-appropriate patient care, performing a range of diagnostic exams, and maintaining imaging quality.

Candidates should hold an Associates in Radiologic Technology and ARRT Nuclear credentials. Minimum 1 year of clinical experience with nuclear medicine is preferred, and BLS certification is required.

Qualifications

• Associates Radiologic Technology required.
• Minimum 1 year clinical experience caring for patients.
• Nuclear medicine experience preferred.
• ARRT Nuclear Technology or Cert Nuclear Med Tech required.
• BLS certification required (Instructor preferred).

Responsibilities

• Adjust technique to maximize image quality and patient safety.
• Report equipment issues to ensure timely repairs.
• Clean and disinfect NM equipment per policy.
• Verify clinician orders and collect patient data prior to procedures.
• Ensure correct patient identification and proper marker use.
• Review images and release patients after analysis.
• Respond to emergencies and restock crash cart and life support supplies.
• Assist other technologists across modalities as needed.
• Maintain patient dignity and privacy throughout exams.
• Prepare patients pre-procedure and ensure sterile technique.
