Qualifications

Job Title: Nuclear Medicine Technologist - PRN

Job Summary

The Nuclear Medicine technologist assists in providing safe, age-appropriate care by performing all exams according to department procedures. They are responsible for obtaining quality diagnostic studies, performing technical procedures with independent judgment, and setting up equipment for imaging services.

Core Responsibilities
  • Adjust techniques to optimize image quality and patient safety.
  • Report equipment malfunctions and maintain cleanliness and infection control.
  • Verify clinician orders and patient identity, obtain clinical history, and assess contraindications.
  • Administer radiopharmaceuticals safely and respond to emergency situations.
  • Ensure patient privacy, comfort, and dignity throughout procedures.
  • Explain procedures to patients, address questions, and document accurately.
  • Participate in training, quality control, and operational duties, including equipment checks, image processing, and patient transport.
  • Maintain compliance with regulatory standards and hospital policies.
Minimum Education & Certifications
  • High school diploma.
  • Graduate of an approved AMA Nuclear Medicine Program.
  • ARRT Nuclear Technology certification.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Experience & Skills
  • Minimum 1 year of clinical or NM experience preferred.
  • Excellent communication, customer service, and multitasking skills.
  • Ability to work independently and under pressure.
