Job summary

The Nuclear Medicine/PET Technologist at Medical University of South Carolina assists physicians in performing diagnostic and therapeutic procedures by preparing patients and operating nuclear medicine equipment to obtain diagnostic scans. They administer radiopharmaceuticals and medications to obtain images, or provide therapy as ordered by the physician, delivering quality care to pediatric through adult patients.

Graduates of an ARRT or NMTCB recognized Nuclear Medicine Program are required.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an ARRT or NMTCB recognized Nuclear Medicine Program required.
• 0-2 years of modality specific experience.
• Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT) from NMTCB or RT (N) from ARRT; registry eligible with BS/BA preferred; must obtain certification within 12 months if registry eligible.
• Licensure from SCRQSA required.
• Current BLS required; ACLS preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians in diagnostic/therapeutic procedures by preparing patients and operating nuclear medicine equipment.
• Administer radiopharmaceuticals and medications to obtain diagnostic images and/or provide therapy as ordered.
• Perform quality care for pediatric through adult patients with professional judgment and critical thinking.
