Job summary

Anna Jaques Hospital in Newburyport, MA, is seeking a Nuclear Medicine Technologist for per diem coverage. The role requires graduation from an accredited Nuclear Medicine Technology Program and Massachusetts licensure, with ARRT or CNMT certification and BLS.

You will handle radiopharmaceuticals, administer doses, ensure safety, and perform daily equipment checks. Responsibilities include scheduling patient exams, maintaining safety protocols, and on-call rotation coverage.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Nuclear Medicine Technology Program.
• Massachusetts Nuclear Medicine Technologist licensure required.
• BLS Certification.
• ARRT or CNMT certification.

Responsibilities

• Receiving, safe use of, and proper disposal of radiopharmaceuticals and source materials with documentation as required by State and Federal regulations.
• Reconstitutes, completes an activity assay and administers radiopharmaceuticals per Dose Schedules and Authorized User orders.
• Demonstrates knowledge of safety in the workplace to prevent accidents/injuries.
• Practices radiation safety measures for patients, staff and self.
• Wears radiation dosimeters at all times in controlled areas and submits samples for bioassay as needed.
• Schedules patient exams including instructions to patients and staff regarding test preparations.
• Conducts daily surveys and weekly environmental wipe tests.
• Rotating on-call assignments and backup coverage for sick days and vacations.
• Properly operates and maintains Nuclear Medicine equipment and reports malfunctions to Director.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for receiving, safe use of, and proper disposal of all radiopharmaceuticals and source materials. State and Federal regulations require documentation of all said activities.

• Rotating on-call assignments and filling in periodically as backup for sick days and vacation.
• Properly operates and takes care of all equipment in Nuclear Medicine including reports of any malfunctioning equipment to Director.

Scheduled Hours

Per Diem Work Shift: Days - cover for sick calls, vacations, and on-call rotations.

Education Required

Must be a graduate of an accredited Nuclear Medicine Technology Program.

Licenses, Registrations, Certifications Required

State of Massachusetts Nuclear Medicine Technologist licensure BLS Certification ARRT or CNMT.

Pay Range

Pay Range: $46.00 - $68.35 The pay range listed for this position is the base hourly wage range the organization reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at this time. Actual compensation is determined based on several factors, that may include seniority, education, training, relevant experience, relevant certifications, geography of work location, job responsibilities, or other applicable factors permissible by law. Compensation may exceed the base hourly rate depending on shift differentials, call pay, premium pay, overtime pay, and other additional pay practices, as applicable to the position and in accordance with the law.
