A leading healthcare system in Oswego is seeking a Nuclear Medicine Technologist to perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures using radiopharmaceuticals. The role involves performing SPECT imaging, managing departmental processes, and ensuring patient safety through effective use of imaging equipment and standards compliance. Qualified candidates will have the necessary certifications and experience in Nuclear Medicine.

Under general supervision, performs diagnostic and therapeutic procedures using radiopharmaceuticals; conducts high-quality testing on patients utilizing specialized training in the safe use of radioactive materials, sophisticated imaging equipment, and knowledge in delivering quality healthcare to patients of all ages.
Responsibilities include reviewing provider orders, consulting with Radiologists as necessary, completing departmental processes for exam results and documentation, and demonstrating comprehensive knowledge of all equipment within the Nuclear Medicine department.
Prepares, calibrates, accurately documents, and administers radiopharmaceuticals via injection, ingestion, and inhalation. Performs SPECT imaging and maintains a daily activities log. Ensures proper storage and ordering of supplies, monitors supply shortages, and conducts daily safety inspections and quality assurance tests on equipment. Identifies issues and communicates with supervisors.
Evaluates recorded images for technical quality, demonstrates anatomy through proper positioning, and provides radiation protection to patients, staff, and self according to safety standards. Operates radiation detection equipment effectively.
Requirements include graduation from a Nuclear Medicine Technology program, NYS license/registration, ARRT or CNMT certification in Nuclear Medicine, at least one year of Nuclear Medicine experience, and CPR certification.
Pay Range: $34.00-$39.15/hr. Salary is based on experience and qualifications.
