Job description

System Technologist - LMR Codeplug SME

Job Category: Engineering

Responsibilities:

  1. Develop requirements from project inception to conclusion for IT subjects related to Wireless and Network Engineering, including systems analysis, evaluation, and recommendations for improvements.
  2. Provide Codeplug SME support to develop, maintain, and monitor subscriber codeplugs for DHS ICE TACCOM radio systems.
  3. Develop and maintain P25 simulcast conventional and trunking public safety radio systems codeplugs.
  4. Monitor site status, address issues, verify documentation, and interact with end-users to resolve problems.
  5. Perform installations, repairs, and assessments of radio systems, including troubleshooting telephonic and radio system issues.
  6. Program, maintain, and repair Motorola LMR assets such as APX and XTS series radios.
  7. Build nationwide radio codeplugs for mission-critical operations and travel to program radios for Law Enforcement Officers.
  8. Update CPS software and firmware for radio programming computers.
  9. Manage encryption keys via Motorola KMF and encrypt radios using OTAR or manual methods.
  10. Create and maintain documentation related to communication systems and MOUs with various agencies.
  11. Operate and maintain mobile electronic service vehicles as needed.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree with 8 years' experience or an Associate's Degree with 10 years' experience, or a High School Diploma with 12 years' experience in tactical communications, including P25 systems and codeplug development for Motorola radios.

Pay Range: $90,300 - $189,600, depending on various factors including location, experience, and education.
