Job summary

Atlantic Health System is seeking a Nuclear Technologist to perform Cardiac Nuclear Stress studies within our Cardiovascular Imaging Outpatient Departments. The role supports imaging centers affiliated with Morristown Medical Center/Atlantic Health System and other Physician Aligned practices, operating from multiple sites.

Responsibilities

• Mixes stock solutions of radiopharmaceutical materials, calculates doses, and administers doses under direction of physician.
• Calibrates equipment.
• Performs diagnostic studies on patients as prescribed by physician, using scanners or scintillation cameras to detect radiation emitted and to produce image of organ on photographic film.
• Measures radioactivity, using Geiger counters, scalers, and scintillation detectors.
• Administers therapeutic doses of radiopharmaceuticals under direction of physician.
• Follows radiation safety techniques in use and disposal of radioactive materials.
• Other duties as assigned

Job description

AHS's Cardiovascular Imaging Outpatient Departments currently has an opening for a Nuclear Technologist. Selected candidate will perform Cardiac Nuclear Stress studies in accordance with established departmental protocols and policies . This position works within hours and a department that is based in an off-site imaging centers in and around facilities that are affiliated with Morristown Medical Center/Atlantic Health System as well as other off-site offices that are associated with Physician Aligned practices
