Job summary

Atlantic Health is seeking a Radiopharmacy Technician to prepare and render radiopharmaceuticals for diagnostic and therapeutic studies, using a variety of equipment and following prescribed procedures.

You will calibrate equipment, measure radioactivity, assist physicians, perform imaging with scanners or scintillation cameras, and adhere to radiation safety protocols. A diploma and AMA-approved Nuclear Medicine program are required, with licensure/certification at the state or national level.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or equivalent.
• Graduate of AMA approved school of Nuclear Medicine required.
• All licenses and certifications needed to fulfill duties as Nuclear Medicine Technician at state and/or national level.

Responsibilities

• Mixes stock solutions of radiopharmaceutical materials, calculates doses, and administers doses under physician direction.
• Calibrates equipment.
• Performs diagnostic studies using scanners or scintillation cameras to image organs.
• Measures radioactivity with Geiger counters and scintillation detectors.
• Administers therapeutic doses of radiopharmaceuticals under physician direction.
• Follows radiation safety techniques and disposal procedures for radioactive materials.
