Job summary

Atlantic Health is seeking a Radiopharmacy Technician responsible for preparing and rendering radiopharmaceuticals in diagnostic and therapeutic studies, following prescribed procedures and using a variety of equipment.

Principal Accountabilities include mixing stock solutions, calibrating equipment, performing diagnostic studies with scanners to image organs, measuring radioactivity, and administering therapeutic doses under physician guidance while following strict radiation safety protocols.

Responsibilities

• Mixes stock solutions of radiopharmaceutical materials, calculates doses, and administers doses under direction of physician.
• Calibrates equipment.
• Performs diagnostic studies on patients using scanners or scintillation cameras to produce organ images.
• Measures radioactivity with Geiger counters, scalers, and scintillation detectors.
• Administers therapeutic doses of radiopharmaceuticals under direction of physician.
• Follows radiation safety techniques in use and disposal of radioactive materials.
• Other duties as assigned
