Job summary

Atlantic Health System is seeking a Nuclear Medicine Technician to prepare and render radiopharmaceuticals for diagnostic and therapeutic studies. You will calibrate equipment and perform diagnostic imaging using scanners to assess organ function and anatomy.

The role requires an AMA approved Nuclear Medicine program, appropriate licensure, and the ability to work under physician direction with strict adherence to radiation safety protocols.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or equivalent experience.
• Graduate of AMA approved school of Nuclear Medicine.
• Licenses/certifications required to fulfill duties as a Technician at state and/or national level.

Responsibilities

• Mixes stock solutions of radiopharmaceuticals, calculates doses and administers doses under physician direction.
• Calibrates equipment.
• Performs diagnostic studies using scanners or scintillation cameras to produce organ images.
• Measures radioactivity with Geiger counters, scalers, and scintillation detectors.
• Administers therapeutic doses under physician direction.
• Follows radiation safety techniques and disposal procedures for radioactive materials.
• Other duties as assigned
