Compensation and Benefits: $25,000 sign-on bonus for experienced professionals and $10,000 bonus for new graduates. Relocation assistance available.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Performs nuclear medicine procedures including organ imaging and function studies; assists physicians with therapeutic use of radioisotopes. Administers isotope dosage accurately, records dosages, observes patients, and reports unusual occurrences.
- Ensures proper operation of imaging equipment, troubleshooting malfunctions, maintaining inventories, and evaluating new equipment and techniques.
- Transfers, positions, and instructs patients to obtain diagnostic images as specified by physicians.
- Maintains image quality by following standards, developing images, and making necessary adjustments.
- Collaborates with healthcare team members including physicians and nurses during diagnostic procedures.
- Adheres to aseptic techniques and safety protocols, including radiation protection practices.
- Maintains a safe, clean work environment and prepares rooms and equipment for procedures.
- Prepares patients, explains procedures, and monitors patient status before, during, and after procedures.
- Establishes rapport with patients to reduce anxiety and ensure cooperation.
- Manages inventory, performs routine equipment maintenance, and performs clerical duties as needed.
- Utilizes department systems for order entry, scheduling, and information management.
- Supports quality control and performance improvement initiatives.
- Assists in clinical education of students and peers.
- Follows organizational safety, confidentiality, and policy standards.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Education: Associate degree or equivalent from a recognized college or technical school.
- Experience: One year of nuclear medicine experience preferred but not required.
- Licensure/Certification: Arizona MRT certification, NMTCB or ARRT-N certification, and active BLS certification.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Knowledge of scanner use, image transfer, and quality control processes.
- Skill in patient positioning and equipment handling.
- Ability to interpret safety rules, manuals, and procedures.
- Effective communication skills, including report writing and group speaking.
- Basic mathematical and analytical skills.
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and solve problems with concrete variables.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
The role requires frequent standing, handling, reaching, and talking. Occasional sitting, stooping, and lifting up to 50-100 pounds. Exposure to fumes, chemicals, radiation, infectious organisms, and mechanical hazards. The noise level is moderate. Reasonable accommodations are available for individuals with disabilities.
