As we continue to grow, we currently have a tremendous opportunity for a Nuclear Medicine Technologist who is up for the challenge.

Summary/Objective

The Nuclear Medicine Technologist prepares, administers, and measures radioactive isotopes in diagnostic cardiac studies using a variety of radioisotope equipment. Responsibilities include preparing stock solutions of radioactive materials and calculating doses for cardiologists.

Essential Functions
  1. Administers radiopharmaceuticals intravenously to detect or treat cardiac diseases, under the direction of a cardiologist.
  2. Calculates, measures, and records radiation doses or radiopharmaceuticals used, received, and disposed of, following physician’s prescriptions and using computer systems.
  3. Maintains quality control in patient care and equipment usage.
  4. Performs quality control checks on laboratory equipment, logs issues, and follows procedures for addressing them.
  5. Maintains and calibrates radioisotope and laboratory equipment; arranges for calibration as needed.
  6. Disposes of radioactive materials and stores radiopharmaceuticals following safety procedures.
  7. Processes cardiac function studies using computer software.
  8. Prepares radiopharmaceuticals adhering to safety standards to minimize radiation exposure.
  9. Records and processes the results of procedures.
  10. Explains test procedures and safety precautions to patients and assists during procedures.
  11. Completes system/document backups at the end of each scan day.
  12. Manages supply inventory and communicates with corporate offices.
  13. Ensures mobile unit cleanliness, proper attire, and personal dosimeter use.
  14. Maintains up-to-date signage, licenses, and documentation for inspections.
  15. Performs additional duties as assigned.
Physical Demands
  • Requires physical activity such as talking, hearing, grasping, fingering, repetitive motion, and moving independently on the mobile unit.
  • Medium work capacity: lift up to 30 pounds and pull mobile equipment up to 300 lbs; stand for prolonged periods.
  • Requires close visual acuity for data preparation, analysis, and reading.
Travel

Extensive road travel, including overnight stays, is required. Travel to sites is via personal vehicle daily.

Qualifications & Requirements
  • Associate’s Degree in Nuclear Medicine from an approved program.
  • Certification by NMTCB or ARRT, with valid state certification.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Nuclear Cardiology experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Practice Management Systems.
  • Strong communication, teamwork, problem-solving skills, and professional demeanor.
  • Ability to learn and adhere to company policies and compliance standards.
