Reporting to the Nuclear Medicine Supervisor, the incumbent is responsible for performing a full range of in vivo and in vitro Nuclear Medicine procedures using radiopharmaceuticals and related chemicals. The role involves providing quality patient care, ensuring timely throughput of patients, and performing their exams. The technician operates and performs quality control on stationary and portable scintillation equipment, including gamma cameras, Geiger-Mueller counters, well counters, dose calibration devices, and ancillary equipment. They perform PET, Nuc Med, and CT diagnostic studies on PET/CT scanners, including injection of contrast media, image acquisition, and reformatting. The incumbent also conducts scans and procedures to support scanner qualification for research trials, creating and programming study-specific protocols under supervision.
