Job Description

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

1. Responsible for performing brain SPECT scans, as well as related general quality assurance procedures.
2. Performing brain SPECT scans.
3. Patient preparation of IV.
4. Preparation of patient doses.
5. Administration of patient doses.
6. Processing and printing scan images before end of workday.
7. Administration of testing protocols.
8. Maintain Odyssey hard drive.
9. Maintain an accurate and up-to-date logbook.
10. Perform daily quality control on cameras.
11. Perform all hot lab duties.
12. Daily constancy with two sources.
13. Daily surveys.
14. Weekly wipe tests.
15. Order the correct number of isotope vials a day prior to scans.
16. Maintain all required documentation.
17. Perform semi-annual sealed source leak tests.
18. Perform quarterly dose calibrator linearity tests.
19. Perform annual geometry and accuracy tests on dose calibrator.
20. Manage medical supplies inventory.

Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Current Nuclear Medicine Technologist License in applicable state.
• Ability to work efficiently with large patient volumes in a fast-paced environment.
• Capable of working with challenging patients.
• Ability to communicate technical information to the public.
• Strong time management, organization skills, and ability to work independently and within a team.
• Empathy, emotional stability, and good communication skills, with genuine care and regard for patients.
• Familiarity with brain imaging is a plus.
• Familiarity with Picker Prism 3000 system is a plus.
• Pediatric experience is desirable but not mandatory.
• Bilingual ability is a plus but not mandatory.
