Job summary

US Heart & Vascular seeks a PRN Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join Birmingham Heart Clinic in Birmingham, AL. This role supports our PET imaging services, covering days when our full‑time techs are off, as well as providing coverage to our satellite offices.

You must graduate from an accredited Radiology Technology program and be ARRT or NMTCB registered, with BLS/CPR certification. Flexibility to travel to satellite locations is required.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of Radiology Technology.
• Registered with ARRT or NMTCB.
• BLS/CPR certification.
• Flexibility to travel to satellite office locations as needed.

Responsibilities

• Perform PET scans.
• Explain medical procedures to patients and answer questions.
• Follow safety procedures to protect patients and staff from radiation exposure.
• Prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals as required.
• Operate imaging equipment.
• Maintain detailed procedure records.
• Provide coverage at satellite office locations as needed.

US Heart and Vascular is seeking a PRN Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our team at Birmingham Heart Clinic in Birmingham, AL. This role supports our growing PET imaging services, covering days when our full‑time techs (who work 4-10 schedules) are off, as well as providing coverage to our satellite offices.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform PET scans
• Explain medical procedures to patients and answer any questions they may have
• Follow safety procedures to protect the patients and themselves from unnecessary radiation exposure
• Prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals as required
• Operate imaging equipment
• Maintain detailed procedure records
• Follow safety and disposal radiation procedures
• Provide coverage at satellite office locations as needed

Requirements, Skills, and Abilities

• Graduate of an accredited school of Radiology Technology
