Job summary

US Heart & Vascular is seeking a PRN Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join Birmingham Heart Clinic in Birmingham, AL. The role supports PET imaging services and covers days off for full-time techs, with potential coverage at satellite offices.

Qualified candidates are graduates of radiology programs, ARRT/NMTCB registered, and BLS/CPR certified. Travel to satellite locations is required.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of Radiology Technology.
• Registered with ARRT or NMTCB.
• BLS/CPR certification.
• Flexibility to travel to satellite office locations as needed.

Responsibilities

• Perform PET scans.
• Explain medical procedures to patients and answer questions.

• Prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals as required.

Full Job Description

US Heart and Vascular is seeking a PRN Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our team at Birmingham Heart Clinic in Birmingham, AL. This role supports our growing PET imaging services, covering days when our full-time techs (who work 4-10 schedules) are off, as well as providing coverage to our satellite offices.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform PET scans
• Explain medical procedures to patients and answer any questions they may have
• Follow safety procedures to protect the patients and themselves from unnecessary radiation exposure
• Prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals as required
• Operate imaging equipment
• Maintain detailed procedure records
• Follow safety and disposal radiation procedures
• Provide coverage at satellite office locations as needed

Requirements, Skills, and Abilities

• Graduate of an accredited school of Radiology Technology
• Registered with ARRT or NMTCB
• BLS/CPR certification
