Job summary

Bozeman Health seeks a licensed Nuclear Medicine Technologist to perform general nuclear medicine examinations, including PET/CT and on-call studies in a hospital-based acute care environment.

Requirements include CAHEA-accredited training or equivalent, ARRT NM or NMTCB certification, and current BLS. Preference given to candidates with 1 year of post-graduate experience and strong teamwork with radiologists.

Responsibilities

• Perform general nuclear medicine exams and on-call studies as requested.

• Ensure timely orders verification and reporting.
• Support quality indicators and compliance with regulations.
• Handle procurement, decay, and disposal of radioactive materials.

Job description

Performs general nuclear medicine examinations, including on call services, therapeutic procedures and PET/CT patient exams in a hospital based, acute care environment.

Minimum Qualifications

• Graduate of an Allied Health Education and Accreditation (CAHEA) accredited program or equivalent.
• American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification in nuclear medicine or Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (NMTCB)
• Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Preferred

• One (1) year of post-graduate work experience as a registered Nuclear Medicine Technologist

Essential Job Functions

In addition to the essential functions of the job listed below, employees must maintain timely completion of all required education, trainings, and certifications as assigned and in accordance with Bozeman Health policies, department-specific requirements, applicable certification program and registry requirements, and other applicable regulatory requirements.

• Performs nuclear medicine quality control measures, patient exams and procedures as requested by the medical staff.
• Assists the Radiologists and other medical staff during exams and procedures.
• Performs ancillary duties as required to maintain proper distribution, billing and archival of exams and procedures
• Completes documentation for all information required for proper interpretation, reporting, archiving and retrieval of exams.
• Verifies written/electronic orders and related health information to ensure the timely performance and reporting of NM exams and procedures.
• Participates in the implementation, monitoring and improvement of the hospital quality indicators as described in the strategic plan.
• Completes appropriate documentation for the administration, receipt/return, decay and disposal of radioactive materials in compliance for state and/or federal regulations.
• Other related duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Schedule Requirements

• This role requires regular and sustained attendance.
• The position may necessitate working beyond a standard 40-hour workweek, including weekends and after-hours shifts.
• On-call work may be required to respond promptly to organizational, patient, or employee needs.
