Job summary

The Nuclear Medicine Technologist I at Community Health Systems, Inc. in Valparaiso, IN performs diagnostic and therapeutic nuclear medicine procedures under physician supervision.

You prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals, operate imaging equipment, and maintain radiation safety and accurate records to ensure high-quality patient care. Collaborating with radiologists and cardiologists, you document procedures in the EMR and participate in protocol updates with the department.

Qualifications

• 0–2 years of nuclear medicine experience in a clinical or hospital setting.
• 2–4 years as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist in an acute care hospital preferred.
• Must adhere to safety, regulatory, and quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Performs nuclear medicine imaging procedures and therapies per physician orders.
• Prepares and administers radiopharmaceuticals following safety protocols.
• Assesses patient condition and verifies proper identification prior to exams.
• Operates and calibrates gamma cameras and PET scanners for quality imaging.
• Maintains documentation for NRC/state regulatory compliance in EMR.
