Job summary

Piedmont Medical Network - Fort Mill Hospital in Fort Mill, SC seeks a Nuclear Medicine Technologist to perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures for patients of all ages, with emphasis on radiation safety and PACS proficiency.

Responsibilities include obtaining patient data, explaining procedures, and administering isotope dosages. Requires an approved Nuclear Medicine program graduate with ARRT/NMTCB-registry eligibility and BLS. Night/weekend call may be required.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an approved Nuclear Medicine Technology program with an Associate degree or equivalent.
  • Registry eligible; registration completed within nine months of employment; BLS CPR required; SCRQSA certification.
  • Prefer ARRT and/or NMTCB registry.

Responsibilities

  • Obtains patient data before procedure - DOB, age, and history. Usually explains procedure to be performed, facilitates patient’s cooperation and alleviates anxiety
  • Utilizes proper Radiation Safety with patient, self, and others
  • Always demonstrates working knowledge and proficiency with imaging equipment, including but not limited to: computers (acquisition and processing), dose calibrator, PACS, and Syntrac system
  • Always measures dosage for each patient following correct procedures; observes established precautions against overexposure
  • Administers isotope dosage accurately following established departmental procedure; accurate records dosage administered
  • Performs related duties as required.

Job Summary

Required:

  • Education: Graduate of an approved Nuclear Medicine Technology program with an Associate degree or equivalent required.
  • Certifications/Registrations/Licenses:
    • Must be registry eligible.
    • Registry completed with nine (9) months of employment.
    • American Heart Association BLS CPR certification required.
    • SCRQSA certification required.
Preferred
  • Experience: Up to 1 year experience is required, 1 to 2 years preferred
  • Certifications/Registrations/Licenses: ARRT and/or NMTCB registry preferred
