Job summary

Piedmont Medical Network is seeking a Nuclear Medicine Technologist to perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures using radiopharmaceuticals, ensuring radiation safety and patient comfort. The role requires PACS proficiency and a commitment to quality patient care across ages, including night and weekend call.

Education and registries are required or soon completed, with ARRT/NMTCB registry preferred and CPR certification mandatory.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an approved Nuclear Medicine Technology program with an Associate degree or equivalent required.
  • Must be registry eligible.
  • Registry completed with nine (9) months of employment.
  • American Heart Association BLS CPR certification required.
  • SCRQSA certification required.
  • Experience: Up to 1 year required, 1–2 years preferred.
  • ARRT and/or NMTCB registry preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Obtains patient data before procedure (DOB, age, history) and explains procedure to ease patient anxiety.
  • Utilizes Radiation Safety with patient and staff.
  • Demonstrates proficiency with imaging equipment (including PACS, dose calibrator, Syntrac system).
  • Measures and records dosage accurately following procedures.
  • Performs related duties as required.

Job Summary

7:00am - 3:30pm

Performs diagnostic and therapeutic procedures for patients of all ages utilizing radiopharmaceuticals. Applies principals of radiation protection. Exercises professional judgment in performance of service. Provides patient care to patients of all ages. Night and weekend call is required. Proficiency in PACS.

Responsibilities
  • Obtains patient data before procedure - DOB, age, and history. Usually explains procedure to be performed, facilitates patient’s cooperation and alleviates anxiety
  • Utilizes proper Radiation Safety with patient, self, and others
  • Always demonstrates working knowledge and proficiency with imaging equipment, including but not limited to: computers (acquisition and processing), dose calibrator, PACS, and Syntrac system
  • Always measures dosage for each patient following correct procedures; observes established precautions against overexposure
  • Administers isotope dosage accurately following established departmental procedure; accurate records dosage administered
  • Performs related duties as required.
Qualifications

Required:

  • Education: Graduate of an approved Nuclear Medicine Technology program with an Associate degree or equivalent required.
  • Certifications/Registrations/Licenses:
    • Must be registry eligible.
    • Registry completed with nine (9) months of employment.
