The University of Utah Department of Radiology and Imaging Sciences invites you to join our esteemed team of nuclear medicine experts. We are seeking a highly skilled Nuclear Medicine Physician with subspecialty training in nuclear medicine, molecular imaging, and theranostics to contribute to our rapidly growing Nuclear Medicine section.

This full-time position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the field through education, pioneering research projects, and comprehensive clinical services. Our team comprises experienced nuclear medicine physicians, including internationally recognized leaders, dedicated to providing exceptional patient care across a wide spectrum of nuclear medicine services. Academic rank will be determined based on the candidate’s training and experience.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will be certified or eligible for certification by the American Board of Nuclear Medicine or the American Board of Radiology – Nuclear Radiology. We are looking for individuals with a strong interest and proven track record in academic radiology, exceptional clinical and interpersonal skills, and demonstrated research productivity and educational efforts. Responsibilities include teaching medical students, residents, and fellows, initiating research projects, and participating in quality improvement and value initiatives.

Facilities and Resources:

You will have access to state-of-the-art imaging resources, including multiple PET-CTs, MRIs, dual-energy CTs, intraoperative MRI, and MR-guided focused ultrasound for clinical work and research. Pre-clinical imaging resources, such as micro PET-MRI and 7T MRI, are also available. Research opportunities abound, with a broad case mix from various sources, as well as the unique world-class support provided by the Utah Center for Advanced Imaging Research (UCAIR) in the Department and the Huntsman Cancer Institute.

The Nuclear Medicine section offers diagnostic imaging and theranostics services at the University Hospital and the Huntsman Cancer Hospital, an NCI-designated premier cancer center. Our section has a distinguished history of nuclear medicine innovations, including the development of Tc-99m MAG3 in the late ’80s and the introduction of theranostics in Utah. Our department is renowned for excellence in clinical care, education, and research, with outstanding residency programs in Diagnostic Radiology and Interventional Radiology.
