Job summary

Trinity Health Ann Arbor Hospital is seeking a Nuclear Medical Technologist to operate Hot Lab and diagnostic NM imaging equipment, performing procedures with an emphasis on ALARA principles.

The position requires completion of an accredited NM program or AS, NMTCB/ARRT registration, current BLS, and preferred 1 year NM experience. Expect day shifts with some weekend/holiday rotation and on-call duties.

Qualifications

• Accredited Nuclear Medicine Technologist program completed or an Associate in Applied Science.
• Certification by NMTCB or ARRT.
• Current BLS certification.
• One year NM experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy, venipuncture, and QC procedures.

Responsibilities

• Explain procedures to patients before and during exams.
• Observe patient condition for pertinent information relative to the ordered test.
• Calculate radionuclide activity per protocols.
• Prepare appropriate dosage and volume of radiopharmaceuticals.
• Perform quality control to ensure pharmaceutical quality.
• Maintain sterility and integrity of prepared radiopharmaceuticals.
• Prepare imaging devices for studies per protocols.
• Administer radiopharmaceutical doses to patients.
• Perform Nuclear Medicine imaging procedures (dynamic, static, SPECT/SEPCT-CT).
• Monitor ancillary equipment and patient status.
• Prepare radiopharmaceuticals for labelling or transport samples.
• Receive and check radionuclide shipments for contamination; dispose of waste per regulations.
