A Brief Overview

The Nuclear Medicine Technologist III will prepare, measure and administer radiopharmaceuticals for use in diagnostic and therapeutic studies. Will performs and assists with nuclear medicine studies and is responsible for patient safety protocols. will be able to effectively implement new and existing protocols and standards into the daily workflow while maintaining the highest standards of patient care. Will assists Team Lead and/or Supervisor in daily operations to coordinate and ensure compliance with regulatory standards. another duty will be assisting the Team Lead and/or Supervisor in daily billing reconciliation and review and development of site‑specific exams and exam capabilities. Maintains all federal, state, local and regulatory agency requirements.

What You Will Do

• To ensure safe and efficient operations of the department. Demonstrates successful patient/technical skills by producing a variety of procedures while maintaining the high standards of patient care.
• Maintains licensure and continuing education requirements of staff if applicable.
• Preserves support for the learning environment of the hospital and the department of diagnostic imaging.
• Contributes to the successful operations of the department through effective communication, coordination and leadership.
• Collaborates effectively with co-workers within the department and throughout the institution to ensure that assignments are completed in a professional and effective manner.
• Displays a commitment to the hospital’s mission and values.
• Provides age-specific care to patients from neonates through geriatrics.
• Coordinates all ACR/ODH duties to ensure yearly inspections and constant compliance with ACR/ODH standards.
• Expert in all areas of ACR/ODH standards, QC testing, procedures and required written documentation, as required for the area of expertise.
• Images patients in their area (s) of credentialing/licensure
• Education of staff and physicians in equipment operations.

• Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients. Annual training, the UH Code of Conduct and UH policies and procedures are in place to address appropriate use of PHI in the workplace.

Education

• High School Equivalent / GED (Required) and
• Completion of an accredited 2-year program in a school of Nuclear Medicine Technology (Required)

Work Experience

• 5+ years Experience in the area of expertise (Preferred)

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

• Clear knowledge of Nuclear and PET equipment, image printers, computers, and Radiology Information System, PACS, and Electronic Medical Record, (Required proficiency)
• Excellent knowledge of image and exam protocols. Proficiencies for instructing students and new staff. (Required proficiency)
• Must demonstrate effective organizational, written, and oral communication skills. (Required proficiency)
• Ability to act as a lead when supervisor is unavailable (Required proficiency)
• Excellent customer service skills (Required proficiency)
• Ability to work independently (Required proficiency)

Licenses and Certifications

• Registered Technologist Nuclear Medicine (ARRT-N) (Required) or
• Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT) (Required) and
• Basic Life Support (BLS) (Required Upon Hire)
• Licensed by the state of Ohio (If applicable) (Required)
