Job summary

University Hospitals Pain Management is seeking a Nuclear Medicine Technologist III to prepare, measure and administer radiopharmaceuticals for diagnostic and therapeutic studies, while upholding patient safety and regulatory compliance.

You will support Team Lead/Supervisor in daily operations, participate in billing reconciliation, and ensure exam capabilities meet ACR/ODH standards, maintaining high quality patient care.

  • Provide age-specific care from neonates to geriatrics.
  • Educate staff and physicians on equipment operations.

Job description

A Brief Overview

The Nuclear Medicine Technologist III will prepare, measure and administer radiopharmaceuticals for use in diagnostic and therapeutic studies. Will performs and assists with nuclear medicine studies and is responsible for patient safety protocols. will be able to effectively implement new and existing protocols and standards into the daily workflow while maintaining the highest standards of patient care. Will assists Team Lead and/or Supervisor in daily operations to coordinate and ensure compliance with regulatory standards. another duty will be assisting the Team Lead and/or Supervisor in daily billing reconciliation and review and development of site‐specific exams and exam capabilities. Maintains all federal, state, local and regulatory agency requirements.

What You Will Do
  • To ensure safe and efficient operations of the department. Demonstrates successful patient/technical skills by producing a variety of procedures while maintaining the high standards of patient care.
  • Maintains licensure and continuing education requirements of staff if applicable.
  • Preserves support for the learning environment of the hospital and the department of diagnostic imaging.
  • Contributes to the successful operations of the department through effective communication, coordination and leadership.
  • Collaborates effectively with co-workers within the department and throughout the institution to ensure that assignments are completed in a professional and effective manner.
  • Displays a commitment to the hospital’s mission and values.
  • Provides age‑specific care to patients from neonates through geriatrics.
  • Coordinates all ACR/ODH duties to ensure yearly inspections and constant compliance with ACR/ODH standards.
  • Expert in all areas of ACR/ODH standards, QC testing, procedures and required written documentation, as required for the area of expertise.
  • Images patients in their area (s) of credentialing/licensure
  • Education of staff and physicians in equipment operations.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Complies with all policies and standards.
  • For specific duties and responsibilities, refer to documentation provided by the department during orientation.
  • Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients. Annual training, the UH Code of Conduct and UH policies and procedures are in place to address appropriate use of PHI in the workplace.
