Job summary

Ascension St. Francis Hospital in Milwaukee, WI, within Imaging | Nuclear Medicine, seeks a talented Nuclear Medicine Technologist to perform specialized procedures and operate gamma cameras to produce high‑resolution diagnostic images for radiologists and physicians.

You will guide and position patients, manage radiopharmaceuticals end‑to‑end, and uphold strict radiation safety standards. Minimum requirements include BLS from AHA, NMTCB or ARRT NM, and graduation from an accredited Nuclear

Qualifications

  • BLS from the American Heart Association required before hire.
  • NMTCB certification or ARRT Nuclear Medicine certification prior to hire date.
  • Graduate of an accredited Nuclear Medicine Technology program.

Responsibilities

  • Perform specialized nuclear medicine procedures to produce diagnostic images for radiologists and physicians.
  • Operate and maintain gamma cameras and detection equipment to obtain optimal imaging results.
  • Guide and position patients with care, selecting appropriate settings while minimizing discomfort.
  • Manage radiopharmaceuticals end-to-end: ordering, preparing, administering and disposing of doses per protocol.
  • Uphold rigorous radiation safety standards to protect patients and staff.

How you’ll make an impact in this role
  • Perform specialized nuclear medicine procedures to produce high-resolution diagnostic images that enable radiologists and physicians to make accurate, timely diagnoses.

  • Operate and maintain advanced gamma cameras and detection equipment to safely map radiopharmaceuticals and ensure optimal imaging results for every patient.

  • Guide and position patients with care , selecting precise anatomical and technical settings to maximize image quality while minimizing discomfort.

  • Manage radiopharmaceuticals end-to-end by ordering, preparing, administering, and disposing of doses in strict accordance with clinical protocols.

  • Uphold rigorous radiation safety standards to protect patients, team members, and yourself throughout every diagnostic and therapeutic process.

What minimum requirements you’ll need

Licensure/Certification/Registration:

  • BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.

  • One or more of the following required:

  • Certified Nuclear Medical Tech credentialed from the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.

  • Registered Radiologic Technologist specializing in Nuclear Medicine credentialed from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.

Education:

  • Graduate of an accredited education program in Nuclear Medicine Technology required by date of hire.

Work Experience:

  • PET/CT experience preferred.
