Job summary

Ascension Seton Cedar Park Medical Center in Cedar Park, TX, seeks a Nuclear Medicine Technologist to perform diagnostic imaging and quality studies for radiologists. You will operate advanced cameras to map radioactive tracers, position patients, and ensure adherence to safety protocols in a day shift with PRN coverage.

The role requires BLS within 30 days, Texas NMRT credential or NMTCB/ARRT Nuclear Medicine certification, and an appropriate educational path or equivalent experience.

Qualifications

  • BLS Provider within 30 days of hire date.
  • Texas Medical Radiologic Technologist Certification (General Practice) required.
  • NMTCB or ARRT Nuclear Medicine credential required.

Responsibilities

  • Perform diagnostic imaging to support radiologists' interpretation.

How you’ll make an impact in this role

Perform therapeutic and diagnostic procedures providing quality images to radiologists and physicians for interpretation.

  • Diagnostic Imaging: Operate advanced cameras to detect and map radioactive tracers.
  • Precision Positioning: Expertly position patients and select accurate technical factors.
  • Isotope Management: Order, prepare, and administer radio-pharmaceuticals via strict protocols.
  • Radiation Safety: Strictly follow all safety guidelines for isotope handling and disposal.
  • Technical Oversight: Monitor equipment function and manage "Lock/Tag Out" safety procedures.
What minimum requirements you’ll need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

  • BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • Radiologic Technologist specializing in General Practice credentialed from the Texas Medical Radiologic Technologist Certification Program obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
  • One or more of the following required:
    • Nuclear Medical Tech credentialed from the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. Nuclear Cardiology Technologist (NMTCB-NCT) also accepted.
    • Radiologic Technologist specializing in Nuclear Medicine credentialed from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.

Education:

  • High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's
    degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
