Job summary

Kiewit Nuclear Solutions seeks experienced Mechanical / Piping Designers to join our Lenexa, KS team, focusing on safe, cost-effective nuclear plant designs.

Use SmartPlant 3D, MicroStation and AutoCAD Plant 3D to create 3D models and isometrics, review constructability, and support field construction.

Requires 10–15 years in 3D piping design, relevant degree, and US citizenship or permanent residency; DOE and nuclear exposure preferred.

Qualifications

• Degree in CAD, engineering or related field.
• 10–15 years of 3D modeling/detailed design experience.
• Experience with piping design and equipment layout.
• DOE or commercial nuclear experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Utilize 3D design software to create 3D equipment models and guide junior designers.
• Design piping systems and generate isometrics for industrial and power facilities.
• Develop, monitor and check design deliverables per codes and standards.
• Coordinate with construction partners and other engineers; review progress and results.
• Support field construction on-site, answer RFIs and provide design solutions.
