Job summary

Mission Technologies, a division of HII, seeks a Nuclear Mechanical Engineer to provide structural engineering support and coordinate across project and quality teams for design, fabrication, and execution.

Responsibilities include acting as SME, developing BOMs and 3D models, and ensuring alignment with specifications and regulatory standards. Travel to supplier sites may be required.

Qualifications

• 5 years relevant experience with Bachelor's in related field; 3 years with Masters in related field; 0 years with PhD/JD in related field; or 9 years with HS diploma.
• Candidate must have nuclear industry and manufacturing experience.
• Candidate must have experience with commercial nuclear structural components.
• Ability to travel to supplier sites.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Leadership and collaboration skills.
• Problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Serve as structural SME for projects, resolving technical issues and NCRs.
• Develop BOMs and 3D models; coordinate with project and quality teams.
• Analyze structural materials and specifications for metals, non-metals, and composites.
• Evaluate damage tolerance, durability, producibility, safety and fatigue.
• Utilize 3-D modeling to support production; validate with CATIA/NX.
