Job summary

HII Mission Technologies seeks a Nuclear Mechanical Engineer to provide structural engineering support across projects, coordinate with project and quality teams, and ensure alignment in design, fabrication and execution. This role is contingent on contract award and requires leadership and collaborative skills.

The candidate will analyze structural specs for metals, composites, and non-metals, create and maintain 3D models, and work with tools like CATIA and NX, with travel as needed to

Qualifications

• 5 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 3 years with Masters; 0 years with PhD; or 9 years with High School Diploma.
• Nuclear industry and manufacturing experience.
• Experience with commercial nuclear structural components.
• Ability to travel as needed to supplier site.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Leadership and collaboration skills.
• Problem solving and decision making capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Serve as structural SME for projects, resolving technical issues and NCRs.
• Develop BOMs and maintain 3D models; address NCRs and corrective actions.
• Analyze structural engineering specs for metals, non‑metals, or composites.
• Assess damage tolerance, durability, producibility, cost, safety and modeling.
• Specialties may include dynamics, loads, stability, stress fatigue, and thermal analysis.
• Use 3‑D and digital modeling to support production.
