Job summary

Argonne National Laboratory is seeking a Special Materials Representative to manage the laboratory's material control and accountability program. You will handle TID applications, shipping paperwork for radioactive materials, and participate in annual inventories to ensure accurate reporting and safety.

The role requires a 4-year degree, ability to obtain a Q-level clearance, and strong communication and organizational skills.

Qualifications

• U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain Q-level clearance.
• Hazardous material shipping certification within one year.
• Understanding of material controls and accountability operations.
• Proficiency in MS Access and Excel.
• Knowledge of nuclear and hazardous materials safety and regulations.
• 4-year college degree or equivalent in science or related field.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a Tamper Indicating Device (TID) Applicator and manage all program aspects.
• Generate DOT shipping paperwork for onsite/offsite shipments and move radioactive material.
• Participate in annual physical inventories of material balance areas.
• Provide material accountability services including acquisition, transferring, shipping, and reporting abnormalities.
• Travel for training as required.
