Job summary

Duke Energy is seeking an experienced professional to serve as the Outage Sponsor and Site SME for nuclear maintenance activities. You will act as the single point of contact for supplemental outage resources, provide technical direction, and oversee budgets and scheduling for multiple work programs.

Responsibilities include coordinating field activities, reviewing procedures, and benchmarking improvements while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance within the nuclear environment.

Qualifications

• High School/GED degree AND eight (8) years related work experience (i.e. technical/Maintenance or Engineering) showing broad technical knowledge
• Minimum five (5) years of work experience in Operating Nuclear Station Environment

Responsibilities

• Single point of contact for supplemental workforce; station oversight for contingent workforce; communicate work standards and expectations; determine workforce numbers, duration, and training; coordinate overall work activities; provide field support during work activities; monitor workforce for safety, quality, productivity, and schedule adherence; define roles and responsibilities; formulate and monitor budget for workforce, materials, and equipment costs; provide outage schedule for Work Management Group; provide technical direction for area of responsibility; and conduct pre-outage communication and post-outage critique/lessons learned documentation.
• Initial contact for field problems providing overall tech support in analyzing component data/issues for safe, timely resolutions; work order reviews; engineering support for problem identification/resolution/assessments/equipment availability; review/purchase parts inventory; develop specialty tooling; act as complex activity manager for complex work activities; benchmark utilities for improvements.
• Prepare yearly budget for job task area; ensure long-range plans are updated; meet with budget contact; prepare and present annual peer budget reviews; monitor cost reports; project quarterly/year-end projections.
