Job summary

Standard Nuclear is fueling America’s nuclear renaissance with a focus on licensing for fuel fabrication and transportation programs. The Licensing Engineer will author, review, and align technical documentation with regulatory requirements, supporting SARs and licensing strategies.

The role emphasizes collaboration with engineering, operations, and project teams to translate designs into compliant licensing deliverables, while developing expertise in nuclear licensing and applicable codes.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nuclear Engineering or related field.
  • 3–5 years of experience in a regulated engineering role.
  • Strong technical writing and engineering documentation skills.
  • Familiarity with NRC regulations (Part 71 preferred; Part 70 a plus).
  • Equivalent licensing experience under DOE regulations (DOE-STD-3009) will be considered.
  • Experience with Integrated Safety Analyses (ISA) development and document development per Part 70.

Responsibilities

  • Author and review technical documents including design criteria, functional requirements, purchase specifications, operating procedures, materials evaluation reports, code reconciliations, and similar technical work scopes.
  • Develop and support Safety Analysis Reports (SARs) and ensure regulatory alignment of all documentation.
  • Support licensing activities related to NRC regulations (10 CFR Part 71 and 10 CFR Part 70) as applicable; review engineering drawings for licensing compliance.
  • Assist in preparation of regulatory submittals and responses to regulatory inquiries; perform hazard identification and IROFS identification as required.
  • Work with engineering teams to ensure licensing requirements are incorporated into design, fabrication, and testing activities; evaluate design changes for licensing impact.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to track and coordinate licensing deliverables across projects; support development of licensing strategies and documentation packages.
