Job summary

The Nuclear Company in Columbia, SC is hiring a Licensing Engineer to join the Regulatory team. You will support licensing strategies, prepare submittals, and ensure compliance with nuclear regulations across projects.

You will interpret regulations, interact with regulatory agencies such as NRC, and assist with audits while contributing to training and awareness programs for internal teams.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field.
  • 5+ years in engineering within the nuclear energy industry.
  • Experience with nuclear regulations and licensing processes.
  • Familiarity with reactor systems, safety analysis, or environmental regulations.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and completeness.
  • Ability to interpret and apply regulations and technical standards.

Responsibilities

  • Licensing Document Support: assist in preparation, review, and revision of licensing documents.
  • Regulatory Interpretation & Analysis: help interpret and analyze federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Regulatory Agency Interaction Support: support responses to inquiries and regulatory meetings.
  • Compliance Assurance Support: develop programs to ensure ongoing regulatory compliance.
  • Technical Support: assist engineering and operations on licensing-related matters.
  • Develop training materials related to licensing requirements.
  • Promote a culture of regulatory awareness and compliance.
