Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking an experienced License Renewal (LR) and Subsequent License Renewal (SLR) engineer to support US nuclear power plant license extensions and post-approval activities. The role emphasizes scoping, aging management reviews, and NRC-related deliverables.

The successful candidate will collaborate with regulatory teams, manage engineering program basis documentation, and plan inspections to meet NRC commitments, working in a hybrid environment with three days in the office.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 10+ years of engineering/licensing experience in nuclear or regulated industry.
• Experience delivering high-quality documentation in regulated settings.
• Familiarity with nuclear QA/QC, configuration management.
• Strong systems thinking balancing innovation with safety and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Perform system scoping, screening, and Aging Management Review of nuclear plant systems in support of SLR applications.
• Collaborate with engineering and regulatory teams to ensure NRC compliance and license extension commitments.
• Perform engineering program basis documentation, data validation, engineering change tracking, and configuration control.
• Roadmap required inspections to comply with NRC regulations and license renewal commitments.
• Review inspection work orders to ensure license renewal criteria is met.
• Interact with clients and/or NRC in a technical expert role.
• Maintain awareness of changes in aging management regulations, approaches, techniques, and operating experience.
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement, technology forward, and cross-functional collaboration.
