Job description

Nuclear Intern - Reactor Engineering Millstone

Job Summary

Dominion Energy is seeking a Nuclear engineering student for the Summer 2026 intern session to work in the Reactor Engineering group of the Nuclear Engineering Department at Millstone Power Station, Waterford CT.

Job Duties
  • Reactor flux data acquisition and analysis for periodic surveillances of power distribution
  • Ranking cycle thermal performance analysis
  • Trending of reactor performance
  • Periodic walkdowns of primary systems
  • Development of Reactor Engineering technical products

Project assignments will be made in consideration of completed coursework. Tasks will be mentored by experienced engineers.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience
  • Working knowledge of engineering theories and principles.
  • Ability to think analytically and solve engineering problems.
  • Ability to interpret codes, regulations and practices.
  • Ability to process information and effectively manage multiple tasks.
  • Strong planning, organizational and project management skills.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills (includes technical writing).
  • Equally effective working independently or in team environment.
  • Must have a reliable source of transportation.
  • Able to work as team player and work with various groups in the station to provide a user friendly product.
  • Willing to get into the field and perform hands on evaluation of plant modifications.
Education Requirements
  • Must be pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Nuclear Engineering from an ABET accredited program at a four-year college or university. Students with a Mechanical Engineering major may also be considered as long as they have a minor/track/focus of Nuclear Engineering.
  • Must have an anticipated graduation date of 2027 or 2028.
  • Must have a 3.0 minimum GPA.
