Antares in Torrance, CA seeks a Nuclear Instrumentation & Controls Engineer to support development, integration, testing and qualification of nuclear measurement systems across reactor programs. You will design and operate test platforms, automate testing, and handle qualification campaigns for neutron detectors and instrumentation under demanding nuclear environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a nuclear, electrical, physics, systems engineering or related technical discipline.
• 4+ years of experience in instrumentation and control systems in nuclear, aerospace, defense or other high-reliability domains.
• Hands-on experience with sensors, measurement electronics, calibration, data acquisition systems, and automated testing.
• Proficiency in Python programming for automated test execution, data acquisition, and analysis.
• Strong technical communication skills to write test plans, procedures and reports; communicate findings to teams.

Responsabilités

• Collaborate with Nuclear, Mechanical, Electrical, Software, and Controls teams to develop, qualify nuclear instrumentation and control systems.
• Design, build and operate hardware-in-the-loop test platforms and automated test stands for instrumentation and electronics.
• Develop and execute test plans for detectors, sensors, and reactor instrumentation.
• Perform sensor characterization, calibration, and performance testing including accuracy and drift.
• Design environmental qualification testing including radiation, thermal, vacuum, vibration, and shock.
• Develop and maintain automated test software interfacing with data acquisition systems.
• Translate requirements into test objectives and verification activities for components and systems.
• Analyze test data, investigate anomalies, and document findings in technical reports.
