Westinghouse Electric Company is seeking a Nuclear Instrumentation and Control Engineer to join a high-performing team delivering world-class signal processing and control systems for nuclear power plants. The role involves design development, upgrades, and technical documentation, with hybrid work: 2 days per week at the New Stanton, PA location and collaboration with experienced engineers.

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical Engineering or degree with relevant industry experience.
• 0+ years of experience.
• Strong technical interest, willingness to learn.
• Apply fundamental engineering principles.
• Work within a team and coordinate external support, as needed, to successfully complete project scope.
• Effectively communicate analyses basis, summary of results, proposed solutions, and implementation instructions to customers and team members.
• Knowledge of analog and digital circuit analysis/design.
• Awareness of field devices and control devices typical to the power industry.
• Understanding of overall design and operation of Pressurized Water Reactors (PWR) and systems.
• Awareness of typical industry standard drawings including P&ID drawings, loop diagrams, cabinet drawings and panel layouts.

Responsibilities

• Support engineering team for the creation of drawings and design/technical specifications Nuclear Instrumentation Systems.
• Compile technical documents / specifications for procurement/manufacturing.
• Support resolution of technical issues including obsolescence.
• Support supplier and/or manufacturing operations with technical issue resolution.
• Support development of system and hardware design specifications for Instrumentation and Control systems for both new and existing plants.
• Support creation of hardware design documentation such as cabinet layout drawings, cable/wiring schematics, and PCB layout/schematics.
• Support Test document creation and test execution.
• Develop test procedures from System Design and Software Requirement documents.
• Support root cause investigation of defects and coordinate defect tracking efforts.
• Provide support to customers for installation and emergent technical issues.
• Opportunities to travel to customer and supplier sites (domestic and international).
