Job summary

Vistra Nuclear Operations Company is seeking an Instrument & Control Technician Apprentice for shift work at the Shippingport, PA plant. The role covers installation, calibration, maintenance, testing, and troubleshooting of electrical, mechanical, and instrumentation & control systems in radiological areas.

The program includes on-the-job training, safety compliance, and progression toward first-class technician status per the National Academy for Nuclear Training.

Qualifications

• Two year post-high school education or equivalent experience.
• Pass the Instrument and Control Technician Apprentice qualification test and EEI Standardize test.
• Progression to first class technician through the I&C Training Program as accredited by the National Academy for Nuclear Training.
• Knowledge of electronic equipment and circuitry and some knowledge of magnetic amplifier equipment.
• Familiarity with electrical and mechanical measurements, instruments, and basic theories of instrumentation and control in nuclear plants.

Responsibilities

• Perform skilled routine and multitask maintenance in laboratory, shops, and field areas of the plant.
• Calibrate, troubleshoot, and repair instrumentation and control systems.
• Maintain calibration and maintenance areas for radiation monitoring equipment.
• Complete documentation for assigned tasks and comply with safety procedures.
