Vistra Nuclear Operations Company is seeking a Nuclear Instrument & Control Technician Apprentice-Shift in Shippingport, PA. The role involves supervised maintenance, calibration and troubleshooting of electrical, mechanical and instrumentation systems within radiological areas.

You will complete an accredited I&C Technician Apprentice Training Program and gain hands-on experience in reactor controls, containment, and radiation monitoring while progressing toward first-class technician status.

Qualificações

• Two year post-high school education or equivalent experience.
• Pass the Instrument and Control Technician Apprentice qualification test and EEI Standardize test.
• Complete the I&C Technician Apprentice program accredited by the National Academy for Nuclear Training.
• Knowledge of electronic equipment and circuitry.
• Familiarity with instrumentation in nuclear power stations.
• Ability to troubleshoot instrumentation and control circuits.
• Ability to interpret sketches, prints, and instructions.
• Knowledge of safety regulations and practices.
• Eye examination standards must be passable.
• Familiarity with electrical and mechanical measurements.
• Familiarity with digital electronics and microprocessor tech.
• Willingness to wear protective clothing and work in radiological areas.
• Able to work in elevated or confined spaces and radiation fields.
• Must lift a minimum of 50 pounds.

Responsabilidades

• Perform scheduled maintenance, calibrations, troubleshooting and repair of instrumentation and controls.
• Assist in calibration of reactor protection and related equipment.
• Maintain operation of control systems by diagnosing perturbations.
• Complete on-the-job and refresher training commitments.
• Maintain calibration areas and lab equipment.
• Support safe operations and maintenance at the nuclear site.
• Complete required documentation for tasks.
• Assist in radiological areas during all plant modes.
• Assist engineers in testing station equipment.
• Assist with rigging of I&C equipment and materials.
• Perform component repair on boards and I/O modules.
