Job summary

Actalent is seeking an Instrumentation & Controls Engineer for nuclear power projects in Charlotte, NC. The role involves modifying I&C systems, evaluating design decisions, and ensuring regulatory compliance.

Remote and onsite work options are available as projects require, with travel as needed. The successful candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in engineering, 5+ years of I&C experience in nuclear settings, and hands-on experience with PLC/DCS and digital upgrades like Ovation.

Qualifications

• In-depth experience in instrumentation and control engineering within nuclear facilities.
• Familiarity with NRC regulations and nuclear design standards is required.
• Proven ability to develop engineering packages, calculations and drawings.
• Experience supporting digital upgrade projects and plant modernization.

Responsibilities

• Support I&C modification projects from scope through implementation.
• Perform engineering analyses to support design decisions and regulatory compliance.
• Develop and revise design documents, wiring diagrams, and change packages.
• Assist with testing, troubleshooting, and field implementation of I&C changes.
• Coordinate with project teams, vendors, and client personnel to meet objectives.
