Arizona Public Service (APS) is seeking an HVAC Technician to perform troubleshooting, calibration, maintenance and repair of nuclear and non-nuclear HVAC systems at Palo Verde. The role operates independently to maintain reliability and readiness of critical plant equipment, following APS policies and regulatory requirements.

The position requires a high school diploma, three years of industrial HVAC experience, completion of a refrigeration and air conditioning service training program, and

Qualifications

• Three (3) years service experience on industrial HVAC equipment.
• Completed an approved refrigeration and air conditioning service training program or equivalent.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, procedures, plant drawings and diagrams.

Responsabilités

• Respond to emergency requests to restore plant and building equipment to an operational status in accordance with applicable plant policies and procedures.
• Perform preventative maintenance tasks on all HVAC equipment and components to ensure system integrity and reliability.
• Maintain, test and overhaul large tonnage centrifugal chillers required for normal and essential plant operations.
• Test, inspect and maintain nuclear air filtration systems used to contain airborne radioactive contamination.
• Calibrate, test and repair various temperature, pressure and flow instruments and controls used on both essential and non‑essential HVAC related equipment.
• Perform necessary corrective maintenance. Test and overhaul large capacity vane axial and backward incline fans required for normal and essential plant operations.
• Perform freeze seals on various sizes and types of plant piping systems to isolate components in support of maintenance and testing activities.
