Vistra seeks a senior Lead Fuels Engineer to direct the implementation of a nuclear fuel transition across Vistra nuclear power plants in support of a major power uprate program.

This role provides technical leadership and program ownership for fuel-related aspects of the uprate, including licensing support, vendor management, and plant implementation. A strong applicant will balance technical rigor with vendor accountability.

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree in Nuclear or Mechanical Engineering with 8+ years nuclear industry experience.
• Experience leading fuel design, reload engineering, or fuel performance.
• Experience reviewing licensing deliverables for a utility or plant owner.
• Strong knowledge of reactor physics, thermal hydraulics, and NRC requirements.

Responsabilidades

• Lead fleet-wide fuel transition strategy across three plants for uprate.
• Coordinate across safety analysis, reactor physics, thermal hydraulics, and licensing readiness.
• Define acceptance criteria for vendor analyses and NRC submittals.
• Ensure vendor products are regulatory-ready and technically sound.
• Communicate with NRC and manage licensing basis development.
