Job summary

Vistra Nuclear Operations Company in Perry, Ohio seeks a senior Lead Fuels Engineer to direct the implementation of a nuclear fuel transition across Vistra plants for a major uprate program. You will provide technical leadership, own fuel design integration, licensing support, vendor management, and plant implementation.

You will serve as the senior technical authority for fuel performance and licensing deliverables, ensuring regulatory compliance and alignment with uprated operating conditions,

Qualifications

• Bachelors in Nuclear/Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 8+ years in commercial nuclear with fuel, reactor engineering or licensing.
• Experience reviewing licensing deliverables for a utility or plant owner.

Responsibilities

• Direct the fleet-wide fuel transition strategy across three plants.
• Provide senior technical authority for fuel performance and licensing deliverables.
• Define acceptance criteria and approve vendor analyses and reports.
• Ensure regulatory readiness and NRC submittal alignment with uprate conditions.
• Coordinate vendor performance, schedule, and quality across the program.
• Support NRC interactions, reload evaluations, and startup readiness.
