Job summary

Sonic Systems International is seeking a Fuel Equipment Technician to support inspections of fuel rods within nuclear fuel assemblies and refurbish inspection tooling. The role involves travel to domestic and international client sites to support outages, while maintaining safety and compliance across all tasks.

You will work with the Fuel Services Team to ensure accurate data, up-to-date certifications, and adherence to PSA plans.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license.
• U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
• Mechanically and electrically inclined.
• Able to read complex tool drawings.
• Comfortable working at heights.
• Documented experience with Microsoft Office.
• Willing to pass a background screening.
• Willing to pass drug and alcohol screening.

Responsibilities

• Support fuel rod and fuel assembly inspections, including fuel sipping.
• Prepare and refurbish fuel inspection tooling.
• Travel to customer sites to service nuclear outages (up to 50% travel).
• Keep accurate databases for all equipment.
• Maintain current certifications for all equipment.
• Keep facilities, equipment and work areas clean and orderly.
• Follow safety regulations and procedures for all duties.
• Complete work schedules to meet client needs.
• Protect confidential information.
• Assist in improving deliverables and reducing costs under PSA.
• Attend weekly team and staff meetings as required.
• Support other operation areas as needed (e.g., CRD and MODS).
• Carry out directives from the Lead Manager.
