Job summary

X Energy is seeking a Fire Protection Engineer to design, implement and oversee fire protection systems for nuclear power plant projects in the United States. You will manage the full lifecycle from requirements to fully functional operation, ensuring compliance with NFPA codes, 10 CFR 50 Appendix R, and Regulatory Guide 1.189, while coordinating with multiple engineering teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in fire protection or mechanical engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• Master's or PhD may substitute for experience.
• Experience with nuclear facility projects is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Execute core tasks with minimal supervision.
• Develop mechanical/physical system design concepts for SSCs.
• Plan analyses to ensure SSCs meet requirements and specs.
• Provide independent reviews of engineering deliverables and data.
• Coordinate with stakeholders to ensure compliance with codes and standards.
• Lead design reviews and procurement support for fire protection systems.
